BRAD C. IPSEN, 58 years old of Beautiful Downtown Antioch, IL passed away suddenly, Thursday Jan. 25, 2007 at his home. He was born Sept. 4, 1948 in Waukegan, IL the son of the late Leylon “Lee” and Gertrude (Stimpfl) Ipsen. Brad has been a life long and respected resident of Antioch. On Oct. 20, 1973 he married Ellen Mary Barr in St. Peter Church, Antioch. In 1980 Brad and his wife Ellen established the Ipsen Insurance Agency of American Family Insurance on Lake Street in Antioch. He served as a Eucharistic Minister of St. Peter church, was a member and past president of St. Peter Grade School Board and was known for his special entertainment at the Church Sponsored Footlights in Nov. of each year. Brad also served his community in many other ways including; First Vice President of the Antioch Lions Club, Retired Member of the Antioch Rescue Squad, President of Home Oak Cemetery Association, Member of Antioch Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member of Northern Illinois Conservation Club, Ducks Unlimited Committee Member,Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3800 of Antioch. Member Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #525, Member of the Antioch Village Zoning and Planning Board and was an avid snowmobiler and sportsman. Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Ellen, his children, Kent (Ginger Nee Skvarce)) Ipsen, Mary Elizabeth (Dennis) Carroll and Lisa (Channin) Pluciennik all of Antioch, his three grandchildren, Channin and Cameron Pluciennik and Elle Ipsen, his brother Lonn Ipsen of Pell Lake, WI, two sisters, Christine (Russ) Miller of Mammoth Hot Springs WY and Kathy (John) Smith of Antioch, his uncle Rudolph Stimpfl of Barrington, IL his Aunt Doris Ipsen of Dallas, TX, many nieces and nephews and cousins and other H. S. relatives. Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday Jan 30, 2007 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch. Visitation will be at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St, (Rte 83) from 3 until 9PM Monday. Private interment will be in Home Oak Cemetery, Antioch. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Peter Grade School or the Antioch Rescue Squad, in his memory.
